I think part of the reason girls like the washboard so much (apart from abs being more pleasant to look at than flab) is because it's very masculine. It's the opposite of themselves.
Kind of like the way men go crazy for boobs. Ask a man what he loves the most about boobs, and many will answer how soft they are. They are used to having a hard, solid chest so a womans soft chest (the exact opposite of his own) can keep them entertained for hours.

I can use the nipples to tell the temperature, that way I always know if I'm going to need a jacket if we're going out.
